Correction in CNIC

NADRA has the authority to issue computerized national identity cards (CNIC) to Pakistani nationality holders. A mistake made in the CNIC for any reason whatsoever needs urgent attention to avoid any future difficulty for the person. The errors can be related to:

Correction

To fix a mistake on a CNIC, you can file a suit under section 42 of the Specific Relief Act of 1877 in the Civil Court that has jurisdiction over the case.

Documents required for the correction of the name

To file a suit for the correction of a name, you will need to submit the following documents:

A complaint contains complete details of the petitioner, i.e., name, father’s name, date of birth, place of birth, birth certificate, educational certificates, etc.

  • Mother’s CNIC
  • birth certificate issued by the concerned union council
  • Two independent witnesses

Documents required for correction of the father’s name or spouse’s name

To file a suit to change the father’s name or the name of the spouse, you will need to send in the following documents:

Correction in Form B

When a child is born in Pakistan, NADRA issues a certificate of registration from the place he/she is born. This registration certificate is also known as the B-Form. It is a document that provides proof of a child’s birth. Both parents of the child must be CNIC holders for the issuance of the B-form.

If in the B-Form, there is any mistake regarding the name, father’s name, or date of birth, it is the fundamental right of the child that the error is rectified immediately.

  1. My Daughter Province code is wrong in CNIC. Actually I belong to Sindh my code is 41…. and my Daughter CNIC start from 51—- it is Balochistan Province.
    So my daughter feel very difficulty to apply in job in Sindh Province and they ask this card is from Balochistan, so plz guide and resolve our issue.
